To tie a Scarf
Which style is best to tie your scarf depends on the model (long or square) and the size (large or small). Each scarf has different ends after tying the basic style; thick or thin, short or long, with or without decorations. But they all give 'stuffing' to your neck, it feels less exposed and looks super feminine. Try out the possibilities of each scarf in your own time.
Square Scarfs
- Fold the scarf in half once, from point to point, creating a triangle.
- Lay the long side over the forehead so that there is a point on both sides of the head and in the neck.
- Grab a point along the head in each hand and tie it with a double knot over the point in the neck. Your ears do not have to be completely covered, it is usually better to see the earlobe or half ear.
- Experiment what looks best; the scarf a little lower above the eyebrows or a little higher.
- When you have determined the correct position, pull the scarf on your back just above the button a little up. This ensures volume and a natural fall of the material.
Long Scarfs
- Lay the scarf lengthwise on your head. One end slightly shorter than the other. The width of the scarf falls from your forehead to your neck.
- Pull the scarf low or high above your eyebrows as desired and tie the two ends behind your head together with a double knot, across the back of the scarf (width) in your neck.
- Grab the long end and wrap it again around your head, past your forehead to the other end. Optionally you can twist this long end together (see turban style) or unfold it completely. The latter gives more volume and a kind of bandana effect.
- Tie both ends together again with a double knot. If you want to hang them like a tail along your shoulders, make the knot low behind your ear.
- Place another brooch just above the knot as desired.
